This site currently underwent some revamping. Everything should be up and running, but some things may have been overlooked. If you find any errors on the page, please contact Lissette.
Please check our About Us page for a more in depth description of who we are and what we do. A quick synopsis of us is that we are a Community Emergency Communications Team. What we do for the community is work closely with the City of Coral Gables and volunteer our manpower during times of need. During events such as hurricanes, we communicate any pertinent conditions that are vital for the city to operate as it normally does. We are a team of volunteer amateur radio hobbyists who use our knowledge of the hobby for the greater good of the community.
Please subscribe to our site to receive updates on current minutes, events, etc. Also, any members who have pictures from any previous events, past minutes, whatever, please contact Lissette and let her know so they may be archived as part of the Gables RACES history.

Good morning everyone,I just wanted to remind everyone of the activation procedures for the Coral Gables RACES team. We can be activated by the following means.
1. City of Coral Gables City Manager David Brown
2. City of Coral Gables Fire Chief Walter Reed
3. City of Coral Gables R.A.C.E.S. Officer Michael Erwin
4. Request from County E.O.C. Officials
I will be going into the Coral Gables E.O.C. this morning to evaluate the status. If there is a request for activation, two members of the RACES administrative team will respond to the EOC to determine manpower needs and begin manning the RACES room
At this point, please go on a stand-by status. Make sure that all of your radios are in working order and batteries are charged. Also please make sure that your home situation is secure. I will NOT be calling in RACES members unless they are needed.
Please check your email frequently. I will be monitoring the Coral Gables R.A.C.E.S. repeater of 147.150 as well as the 147.000. All Coral Gables R.A.C.E.S. Administrative Team members, please make sure that your 800 mhz. radios are charged and ready.
Thank you,
Michael Erwin, AA8VX
Coral Gables ARES/RACES Officer
