Coral Gables ARES-RACES is a group of amateur-radio operators who are dedicated to public service and emergency communication service during times of disaster in Coral Gables, FLA.
ARES stands for Amateur Radio Emergency Service, which is an affiliate of the ARRL, or American Radio Relay League.
We also provide communications for the Junior Orange Bowl Parade in December annually as well as several other community based events throughout the year.
Our group consists of about 20 active members with another 15-20 members in reserve status. We meet and train regularly and are always available to respond in any emergency situation.
